London Olympic 2012 Travel News
As we all may know, the Olympics 2012 is going arrive on British soil during the summer next year. It has been reported that Transport For London plan to invest a total of £80 million GBP to enhance the transport in London. Furthermore, there are four new stations built along the Stratford international extensions meaning those who live within the area have a more accessible form of travel. On average, there are approximately 18,000 people who use the DLR around the Stratford region daily. Recent forecasts show the figures of visitors using the DLR will rise to 75,000 during the Olympic Games, this could be bad news to the residents living nearby as there could be an increase in noise and over-crowding. Nevertheless, this is a perfect financial opportunity for local businesses.
Big businesses have already been using this opening to increase business growth by sponsoring the event, for example Cadbury London 2012 are one of the main official sponsors. The new chocolate bar launched called 'Spots VS Stripes' epitomises how businesses are using an opportunity like this to boost sales and revenue in order to be more competitive. Overall, the Olympics will be great for the nation as whole, adults and children can benefit from this because the event is promoting fitness and health.
